Gospel singing set
      The fourth annual Chosen Few gospel singing will take place Sept. 9-12 at Fishpond Lake. Free camping is available and free hot dogs and drinks will be served on Saturday.       The third annual MARS Fest will take place Sept. 3 and 4 on Pine Mountain at Wiley’s Last Resort. MARS Fest (Music-Art-ReCreation Sustainability) is a gathering of local and regional musicians, artists, crafters and groups to celebrate Appalachian music, heritage, and culture. Services are held for Clyde Lucas
      Clyde Blaine Lucas, 90, of Whitesburg, died August 24 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born at Camp Branch to the late Willie and Elizabeth Crase Lucas, he was the widower of Eleanor Fairchild Lucas. He was a brother of the late Kermit Lucas, Harry Lucas, Garnette Frederick and Roxie McGrath, and a grandfather of the late James Rodney Lucas.
