Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. How about this weather? I love it! It feels like fall. Goldenrod and a lot of other fall flowers are blooming, but I’m sure summer is not done with us yet. That’s okay, I love all the seasons. More ... A large crowd attended the recent memorial service for Joanie Sexton Brannock, held at the Little Colley Baptist Church. Joanie had fought a hard battle with cancer but died on August 9 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was only 47 years old. She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Nancy Sexton and Arnetta Mae Slone. Our sympathy goes out to her family. More ... Can you believe it is September already? I have been enjoying the cool evenings and cool mornings. It feels good to wake up being nice and cool in the house. Fall is almost here. More ... He is the son of Eric and Jamie Boggs of Kingscreek, and has an older brother, Brady Boggs. More ... I pretty much grew up on dried apples. From late August until this time of year, Mom would patiently peel and thinly slice a variety that we called “horse apples”. It was a variety for which Pap had lost the name, but the draft horses on the place and the mules and cows loved to munch the apples. More ... We have been having some cooler weather and did get a good slow, soaking rain, but it came just a mite too late. Most gardens are finished, and all we have now is a few tomatoes. Adams, will celebrate her 26th birthday Sept. 4. They are the children of Duke and Debbie Fugate of Carcassonne. Their grandparents are Peanut and Jean Blair of Elk Creek, and Mae Fugate of Carcassonne and the late Oakley Fugate. Shanna Adams is the mother of Emmaleigh ‘Miss Em’ Adams, 7, and Gavin Adams, 3. Eugene Halcomb, his wife Phyllis, son Terry and granddaughter Pam were there from Lansing, Mich. Eugene was interviewed for television. More ... Albert Holbrook loves languages.
