27 bridges here rated 'deficient,' statistics show
About 17 percent of Letcher County's 155 bridges are rated "structurally deficient," according to 2006 statistics from the Federal Highway Administration. The statistics show that 59 bridges in Letcher County are rated okay, while 27 bridges - or 17.4 percent - are rated as deficient. The statistics don't identify which bridges are okay or deficient.
