Latest Kentucky state news from The Associated Press:

Police able to recover pills from drain lines

Police say a Cromona man allegedly attempted to flush OxyContin down a toilet last week when he saw police coming to his residence.

Ricky E. Anderson, 51, of 90 State Drive, was arrested by the Letcher County Sheriff's Department on June 28 after police executed a search warrant stemming from a two-month investigation of Anderson allegedly selling drugs from his residence.

Police say they recovered a quantity of OxyContin from the septic drain lines at Anderson's home. A large sum of cash and two handguns were also seized from the residence.

Anderson was charged with firstdegree trafficking in a controlled substance. He was released from the Letcher County Jail after posting a $5,000 cash bond.

Lieutenant M.K. Terry of the Letcher County Sheriff's Department has charge of the investigation.
