Ty Herndon will be in Whitesburg for August festival

Country music singer Ty Herndon will headline this year's Riverside Days Festival on Saturday, August 16. Country singer Ty Herndon will headline this year's Riverside Days festival at Riverside Park in Whitesburg.

The concert is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, at 9:30 p.m., the final performance of the three-day local and regional festival.

Herndon has multiple number-one and top-10 hits including, "Steam," "Living In A Moment," "What Mattered Most," "It Must Be Love," "She Wants To Be Wanted," "Hands of A Working Man," "No Mercy," "I Want My Goodbye Back" and more.

Herndon debuted in 1995 and recently released his ninth studio album, "Right About Now."

Riverside Days also has scheduled Southern rock, country, gospel, pop and bluegrass concerts by East KY Tyme, Duelin' Strings, Kaitlyn Baker, Judy Kincer, Taylyn Combs, Old School and more.

Back by popular demand is Mountain Outreach Idol, a vocal and performance competition sponsored by Mountain Outreach and Vernon Hall. Tryouts for the competition are planned for June.

The festival also announced it has signed Playland Amusements to provide a carnival. The carnival will be set up at the same location as the festival.
