John Berry to headline Jenkins festival
      Country music singer/ songwriter John Berry will serve as the headliner of the 2008 Jenkins Homecoming Days Festival, which will take place August 21-23 at Jenkins City Park. John Berry, known for his powerful ballads, has recorded and released more than 15 albums. His self-titled album released in 1993 has been certified platinum.

Outdoor drama offers musical entertainment
      "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine," the 45th annual adaptation of the John Fox Jr. novel, can be seen at the June Tolliver Playhouse in Big Stone Gap, Va., on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
