Young author will have book signings

GRAYSON SHAMARRA HOLBROOK Grayson Shamarra Holbrook, 13, of Colson has written three children's books about a character she created named Plate Head. She wrote her first book when she was six years old. "She loves to read so she wrote stories so other children could read them," said Shirley Sexton, Grayson's grandmother.

Grayson will be holding book signings at 2 p.m. on August 9 at the Blackey Public Library, at 10:30 a.m. on August 14 at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library in Whitesburg and at 1:30 a.m. on August 22 at West Whitesburg Elementary School. Grayson's books were recently published and can be purchased at the book signings or by calling 633-2519.
