Outdoor drama offers musical entertainment
      "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine," the 45th annual adaptation of the John Fox Jr. novel, can be seen at the June Tolliver Playhouse in Big Stone Gap, Va., on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. The pre-show entertainment for the outdoor drama this week is: Thursday, July 24, Tommy Short, Duffield, Va.; Friday, July 25, Lonesome Pine Cones, Big Stone Gap, Va.

'Desperate Housewives' creator says end in sight
      BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. The women of Wisteria Lane may have only a few more years to resolve their assorted problems. "Desperate Housewives" creator and executive producer Marc Cherry told a meeting of the Television Critics Association that he plans to end the ABC series after seven seasons.
