Kaylee Grace Baker has arrived

Colson
By CREDA J. ISAACS

What a wonderful day the Lord has made!

Little Miss Kaylee Grace Baker arrived August 19, 2008 at 6:06 p.m. She weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces. She has hair! She is the daughter of Keith Baker and Chasity Fox. Her grandparents are Edsel and Carol Hatton Baker and Gary Fox and Sharon Maggard. Great-grandparents are Hargus and Naomi Maggard, the late Roosevelt and Kylone Sturgill Baker, Corsie and Alpha Hall Hatton. Kaylee already has her own basketball and uniform! I've already made her a "fishing" quilt. Kaylee is my great-niece.

My brother, Edsel, will be celebrating his birthday this week and he and Carol will also be celebrating their 47th wedding anniversary. They are so excited with Kaylee I doubt if they will remember anything else. So happy birthday and happy anniversary from all your family and friends!

Jean Cook and I went to Major and Ella Sparks's home and the three of us put our newsletter together. Thanks, Ella, for all your help. She has a big table! We had lunch at the Grill.

Our sympathy to the families of Lona Amburgey Gibson, Donna Oliver Mullins, and Lawnie Isaacs Hall. We saw so many friend and family at the visi- tation and funeral of Clester's Aunt Lawnie. We hadn't seen Oscar Jr. in some years. He lives in Flat Rock, N.C. Iva and Josh will be lonesome without Lawnie.

I met Gary Smith who works at the funeral home. He had worked at Toyota with my grandson, Jason Holbrook. Gary had so many nice things to say about my grandson. Gary is the son of C.B. Smith. I remembered visiting his dad years ago.

Merlene Day called and told me Vette and Betty Blair's mom had died. Our sympathy to their family.

Colson seniors visited in Jenkins on Friday. They had a great time.

Lenora Brown called. She lives in Memphis. She is working on her family tree. She will be in Knott County for Labor Day weekend. I can't wait to meet her.

Get well wishes to Linda Kay Potter, Sue Hill, and Bennie Fleming.
