      The Rev. Lester Foster Franklin Riley, 87, of North Vernon, Ind., died September 2 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon. Born in Independence, he was a son of the late Grafty Lee and Cordelia Gertrude Tungate Riley. He was the father of the late Kathy Laura Murrell, and a brother of the late Gilbert Riley, G. W.

Ella Carlson, 93, dies in Kansas
      Ella Caudill Carlson, 93, died September 2 in St. Marys, Kansas. Born at UZ, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Martha Caudill. She was the widow of Roy Carlson. Mrs. Carlson attended grade school in Whitesburg, and moved to Kansas in 1931. She taught grade school in a one-room school in Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Simmons Brashears; a son, Larry David Brashears and wife Michelle, Mayking; a daughter, Patty Lynn Brashears, Raleigh, N.C.

      Ellis Craig Adams died September 2 at his home at Jeremiah. He was 55 years old. He was a son of Ellis and Ila Whitaker of Jeremiah. Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers, Jerry Adams and Scott Adams, both of Jeremiah, and a sister, Tammy Adams, Jeremiah.
