Nominations sought for 'Unsung Heroes'
Nominations are being sought for the "Unsung Heroes" award. The award, given by the Letcher County Chamber of Commerce, recognizes outstanding achievement in the voluntary sector. The annual Outstanding Volunteers of the Year awards program salutes those whose caring and compassion for their community has enhanced the quality of life for others in Letcher County. Anyone can nominate a person he or she feels is exceptional, and nominees can be choices through volunteer work, community service, or service through occupation.
The deadline for nomination submittals is Monday, May 12. Nominees will be honored and winners announced at the annual awards dinner on Tuesday, June l0, at 6 p.m. at the Pine Mountain. Grill.
