McCown rites held
Funeral services for Sarah Lindell Davis McCown, 95, were held May 10 at Carty Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial was in Payne Gap Memorial Gardens.
Born in Rhoda, Va., she was a daughter of the late Arnollus and Julia Collinsworth Davis and was the widow of John S. McCown. She died May 8.
Mrs. McCown was the mother of the late Richard Gary McCown and a sister of the late Pearl Cummins, Helen Kate Smith, Eva Turnmyre, James B. Davis, Haskell Davis, and Walter Davis.
Surviving are five daughters, Josephine Cantrell, Richmond, Va.; Linda K. Hobson, New Albany, Ind.; Sandra Sharp, Lanesville, Ind.; Esther Jessey, Jenkins; and Jennifer Richardson, Neon; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
