Services are held for Jake Johnson

Funeral services for Jacob "Jake" Johnson, 88, of Jackhorn were held June 29. Burial was in the Haven of Rest Cemetery at Mayking.

Born at Speight, he was a son of the late Clark and Rousie Fouts Johnson and was the widower of Fran Simone Riddle Johnson. He was the father of the late Danny Johnson and Challie Johnson, grandfather of the late Shawn Johnson, and a brother of the late McKinnely Johnson, George Ed Johnson, Clark Johnson Jr., and Paul Johnson.

He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Hemphill Church of God. He died June 26 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Survivors include three sons, Pat Johnson, Jackhorn; Mike Johnson, Neon; and Scotty Johnson, Rutledge, Tenn.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Clarice Collier, Marion, Ohio; and two brothers, Moses Johnson, Marion, Ohio, and Dewey Johnson, Houston, Tex.
