ECCO has busy week cleaning, restocking

"If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself." 2 Timothy 2:13 It was another busy week at ECCO as we cleared and cleaned out storage rooms, restocked pantry shelves and filled a shelf and table with fall decorations to sell in the thrift store.

She is the daughter of Stephanie Collins Maggard of Richmond, and Jeremy Maggard of Jeremiah. Her grandparents are Joan Ramsey of Whitesburg, Steve Collins of Isom, and Bill and Wanda Maggard of Jeremiah. Her great-grandparents are Ruby Ramsey of Cowan, and Cleve and Dovie Collins of Isom.

      I'm so sorry for a mistake that was in my column last week. Roger Campbell of Indianapolis died and was brought back here to be buried at Blackey. He was married to Oma Joe Dixon Campbell. She is the sister of Martha Burns of Blackey. Roger was the brother of the late Lane and Arnold Campbell.

      Kendall Boggs had surgery last week. He is home now and doing well. Hang in there, Kendall. Keep Burdeen and Virginia Ann Gilley in your prayers. Burdeen is doing some better and seemed pleased to see Bill, Agnes and Anna Maggard when they went to visit him in rehab.

Clyde Hatton still very sick

      Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well and enjoying the pretty weather. Time is going so fast, it will soon be over. It already feels like autumn. My husband Clyde is still very sick. He has been in the hospital two times in about a week. He is back at the Veterans Center now. I have been down there about every day and it sure wears me out.

Lucy Blair home from hospital and doing well

      Opal Jent asks that I remind everyone to stop by the East Kentucky Veterans Center between Sept. 9 and 14 to view the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall. The wall will be open for viewing 24 hours a day. There will be a candlelight vigil at dusk on Sept. 11. I, too, would like encourage everyone to go out and view the wall.

Memorial service held at Caudill Cemetery
      Once again on Aug. 22, a lot of families were able to gather at the Caudill Cemetery at Red Star and remember the loved ones who are buried there. The family reunion began on Friday, Aug. 21, at the home of Artie and Elie Shepherd. We had a big fish fry, and this year there were about 40 people attending.
