Joel Stone dies

JOEL DREXEL STONE Joel Drexel Stone, 81 of Campton, died January 23.

Born in McRoberts, he was a son of the late Bristow and Louise Fleming Stone, and the widower of Eunice Taulbee Stone.

He was the father of the late Bethel Stone, and a brother of the late Bennett Stone, John Stone, Hearn Stone, Barnes Stone, and Juanita Fleming.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy, and was a retired farmer

Surviving are four grandsons, Bethel Shane Stone, Randall Todd Stone and Hayden Scott Stone, all of Campton, and Justin Dean Stone of Valdosta, Ga.; a granddaughter, Billie Jean Stone of Wichita Falls, Kan.; three brothers, Bernie Stone of Campton, D.B. Stone of Middletown, Oh., and Don Stone of Goldsboro, N.C.; a foster daughter, Ghedra Dunn of Shelbyville; and a great-nephew, Nick Taulbee.
