The dog warden needs to arrest a certain man for dumping two dogs out at the lake. They are a brown dog and another brown and tan dog. They’ve been up here for two months and they belong to him. He lives at Kona. The dog warden needs to do something.

Hey preacher. You have another man’s wife. When you die, hell will enlarge its borders.

The reason a certain lady has to sneak to Virginia to go to church is because she left her husband and went out on him. She got scared of him and was afraid he was going to catch her so now she is divorcing him.

The Jenkins American Legion was robbed. The money is gone, and was taken by a member. They know for a fact who did it.

Workers who draw S.S.I. checks should be totally disabled. Whether you work for free or money, Social Security says that is labor no matter what. Now the guns are being brought in and people are being threatened. What next?

This is to the guy who is going to get a divorce: Baby, I know you won’t go out with me now because you are still in love with your wife, but once the divorce is final I will make my move. I will make you forget she ever existed.

The spouses of post offi ce workers should not be allowed to constantly be in the post office. One stands in front of the post office boxes, stands right in front of the post office slot where you drop your mail at and is standing right there at the office window when you are trying to get your money orders, constantly being nosy. Is this right? Is this allowed? I don’t think so. It is very annoying. Thank you.

From the Greatest Man who ever walked the earth: ‘Are not two sparrows farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father, but the gray hairs of your head are numbered.’ BP, sometimes I just want to slap you. You are pitiful. I’m not even going to ask God to have mercy on you. Think about it, idiots.

I hear that the principal at a certain school is retiring and a new one will be hired. My question is, why was she allowed to hire her nephew two years ago as a teacher to work for her? Isn’t this against state law or are only certain laws enforced in Letcher County?

You know, Whitco used to be a very nice place to live, but there are so many dogs at Whitco that you can’t get any rest at night. It’s all day long and all night long. It’s just bark, bark, bark. Looks like if people are going to have dogs they would take care of them and not keep people up that have to work and people that are sick. Here at the foot of the hill they bark all night and up here on the hill they bark all night and day. It’s ridiculous when you can’t sit out on your porch without these dogs constantly barking. Looks as if the owners of the dogs would at least try to take care of them and not tie them up and leave them barking in the hot sun. That is abusing the little dogs. I think it ought to be stopped.

No wonder he left you. Why would anybody live with somebody that smells like fish?

I travel up and down Goose Creek a whole lot. You won’t believe what I see. This woman was outside in front of the next people’s door. It looked like she was burning an elk or a hog. She was sticking a big stick in it, pushing it. It was rotten. It stunk for about two weeks. It would take your breath. You couldn’t roll your window down as you passed up that road. It was rotten. They just burned half of their garbage. I just saw now that they have another big wagonload and I hope Letcher County would do something about it. You wouldn’t believe it. You would just have to see it for yourself. The odor was just like something dead was being burned. They are filthy people. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

This is to the lady, husband and children wanting to know about a security guard that drives a red truck: He has tinted windows on the truck. It is an older style, red truck. Thank you.

To my sexy, blue-eyed baby from Linefork: Happy birthday this month, baby. I love you and miss you. From your baby girl.

I think it is a sad day for the justice system. When my child support got behind more than $300, I was convicted of a felony and given a one-year sentence probated for five years. And now we’ve got accused murders getting sent home with an ankle bracelet? I would think if they would commit murder, they would probably cut the bracelet off or take off and do more crime or whatever. Think about it.

Reckon Grandma still likes going away parties as well as she did when she was 18 and pregnant?

I have known this man from McRoberts all of my life. Everyone says he is a good man, but when it comes down to it he has taken advantage of a situation his daughter’s mother was in. Now the mother works and is trying really hard. Just because the father has money, he really treated the mother very badly because the mother has always been a part of his baby’s life. When someone is doing their best, why put them down? I see the baby’s mother’s aunt at your house all of the time. All of the neighbors know what you are doing. We all have a past. Please don’t put people down when you are no better.

These people that are drawing S.S.I. and working in restaurants should not be allowed to live off of the poor man’s work. They are nothing but scum anyway.

Hello, Letcher County Courthouse. When are we going to do something about all this garbage burning? People can’t even sit on the porch, can’t even open windows, can’t open doors because of everyone else’s smoke blowing into their houses. You can’t even turn on the air conditioner without everyone else’s smoke being sucked plumb into your house. I think we need a law against garbage burning. They’re supposed to be paying a garbage bill to have it hauled off instead of burning it and smoking up other people’s houses.

To Christine: I’m disappointed in your article about your family member. Have you forgiven her? Have you asked her to forgive you? It also appears that you are judging her and your remark that it is her loss and your gain is, in my opinion, not the right attitude of the person you are claiming to be. Thank you.

Hello, dream lover. Hoping that you are having some of those dreams of us after the other day. I sure am. I miss you so very much. I hate you are out of the zone this weekend that I won’t get to see you or talk to you. Even though it is going to be a very busy weekend, I am still going to miss you very much. I wish you could be here with me. You surprise me more and more at times. Going to have to think up a special one for you, my love. Take care, my darling. All my love. Sunshine.

This is to a blue-eyed guy that drives a green Jeep: I love you and you mean everything to me.

After watching nonstop news the past week about Joran van der Sloot killing a young woman in Peru, there is something she could have done to fight back. There is a video called ‘Just Yell Fire’ teaching girls how to protect themselves from sexual assault and predators. Check it out.

I don’t know who is the boss over the cops in Jenkins, but whoever you are you have a lady cop who comes up Bill Moore Branch at a very high rate of speed. It is very dangerous, even though we have a sign up that says ‘Drive slow. We love our children.’ You need to talk to this lady. Thank you.

I’m glad they are having a race at Letcher tonight so I can see that Oklahoma girl. I sure do miss her.

You had one of the best husbands that any woman could have ever wanted, but you had to divorce him after he found out about your filthy past and what a filthy slut you were.

I’m going to pray for you. I hope you wake up with a knot on your head and a Freewill Baptist preacher in your bed.

This is the 33-year-old girl. Yes, I am serious. I am about 5’3” with brown hair. My life is a wreck, but I can support myself. I don’t want to support another man. Thanks. Please respond in next week’s paper.

I was just wanting to speak my mind about a certain beer store. I just want to complain about a certain cashier. All she does is smoke out front or just lollygag around. It seem that she can get by with murder. You know why? She is the boss’s daughter. I don’t see why they are letting her get by with it. I guess that is just the way it is when you are the boss’s daughter.

This is to the lady everyone talks about that tattles on the phone: If you don’t believe my baby belongs to my husband, that is your worry because it does. You said he keeps up my two boys. You better keep my two boys out of your business, because he does not. As long as my husband believes me that is all I care for and you won’t be visiting my baby. No wonder you sit by yourself all the time. You are running your mouth where you shouldn’t be running it. You better keep it off of me or I will get you.

I know that many people in this area are enamored by Latinos, and that is understandable, because you have no real knowledge of the facts. Not all these people are bad, but too many of them are. I have firsthand knowledge of this, and before you start to call me a racist, understand that I have Mexican friends in the U.S. and Mexico. I also have Mexican American relatives that I hold dear. Some Mexican people that I have known for years, I have helped financially and given them a free ride any time they’ve needed one, then they repay me by stealing from me. The sheriff in Texas, in a town that borders El Paso County, recently told the people: ‘Arm yourselves. It is better to be tried by a jury of 12 than to be carried by six.’ I have heard many Hispanic Americans talk strongly against the illegal aliens. They come here and go to the emergency room, which you know is expensive, and the hospital is required by law to treat them. Who does this cost? The taxpayers, of course. This increases medical costs for citizens. Helping-hand groups in this area can’t make the diff erence for people who can’t afford health care. They can’t get the free heath care that illegals get. They come here and make babies over and over for free. The babies are automatically citizens, entitled to housing, food stamps, a subsistence check and free medical care. If the man is deported, he will soon be back and slipping in, living off of your tax dollars. Two years ago, I listened to an official in McAllen Tex., say: ‘We have lost $200 million at the hospital by treating them. They will come here, in labor, still soaking wet from crossing the river.’ According to radio news on June 9 in Detroit, border agents investigating the scene of a death on American soil had rifles pointed at them by Mexican Federales and were told to leave the scene, which they did. How much more evidence do you need? I have much more, some of it firsthand.

Times are changing. My friend left her car keys in the ignition and her purse in her vehicle. That night somebody went through her car and used her keys to steal her husband’s Tahoe. I guess now I’ll have to listen to my wife and shut the front door at night. We’ve lived for years in the head of a hollow, and when we moved we couldn’t even find the keys to the locks. I guess crime is coming to the creeks and hollows.

This is to a certain woman from Jenkins that now lives in Wise, Va.: Please leave my family alone. You are nothing but an instigator, and you have caused nothing but trouble for my family for many years. My family and I have had no contact with you or your kids in over eight years. I signed over my rights to your kids a long time ago, and I am not afraid to admit it either. You know why? Because you asked me to and would never let me see those kids. Why start coming around now after everything is done and over with? I have had no relationship with your kids and I don’t want to. My family isn’t stupid like you think we are. The only reason you are wanting to come around now is because you know my mom is sick, and you think that if something was to happen to her that she would leave your family money or something. Let me tell you this. Your family would be the last people she would ever leave anything to. You never cared about my mom and you never considered her or my dad as grandparents to your kids. You never even considered me a father, either, to your kids. The next time you try to come by my house or if you continue to call my mom’s house, the police will be notified. I have a wonderful family now, and we are very happy, and you can’t stand that either. We can’t help it that you have a miserable life, but you brought that on yourself. Why are you so fascinated with our lives, anyway? You seem to keep wanting to know information about my family when it is none of your business. Everyone knows that you are living with my first cousin, but who cares? You are just trying to keep it in my family because you think you can find out more information. Just leave my family alone and live your miserable life, and we’ll continue to live our happy life.

I was just taken aback when I dawned on me that BP was rich enough to buy the Gulf Coast. Is there no sense of curiosity that BP could afford to destroy a big part of the United States and pay for it with no obvious concern? Something’s wrong when the oil companies have this much cash. A few years ago there was an oil shortage because of a storm, yet BP can leak a million barrels of oil in the ocean and there’s no cry a of gas shortage like we had a few years ago.

To all you coal miners: Please start voting for senators that will help you. Don’t be fooled, the representatives will not help you.

I am interested in a locating a lady whose name is Faye Ison. She lived in Whitesburg about 1956. I think she may have attended Stuart Robinson High School one year. If anyone knows her or what became of her, please respond to Speak Your Piece.

Radio commentators like Glen Beck scare me when they say we should implement policies like they have in Europe. When I see police on TV beating up people, it sounds like something is wrong with those policies. When there are not enough jobs for everybody, if you don’t have social programs, you have chaos. The lucky few who have jobs don’t realize they’re lucky, not particularly blessed. I agree that people should work, but when welfare pays more than work, something is wrong. Mexicans aren’t taking American jobs. They are just the new form of scab labor.

On the radio awhile back, the announcer said that there was a study that found that drug conditions contribute to more accidents than driving under the influence in eastern Kentucky. Is there some reason our blacktop roads are not black?
