Indictments name 13

Thirteen people are named in 14 indictments returned by the Letcher County Grand Jury, including a woman charged with dragging a child with her automobile.

The grand jury accuses Tina Marie Sturgill, also known as Tina Marie Yawn, 43, of 736 Barn Hollow Road, Viper, of assault, wanton endangerment, and leaving the scene of an accident in which a person was injured without rendering aid. She is charged with causing numerous injuries to a child about 10 years old by dragging the child through a gravel road with her automobile on June 6.

Letcher County Deputy Mike Burton testified in the case.

Others indicted are:

• Billy Ray Brown Jr. — possession of a forged instrument, theft by deception, and being a persistent felony off ender.

Brown, 32, of 172 Henry Hutton Road, Neon, is charged with paying for goods or services from Neon Double Kwik with a counterfeit $20 bill on May 17.

In a separate indictment, the grand jury says he Brown in possession of a forged instrument, a counterfeit $20 bill, on May 20. He is also charged in the second indictment with being a persistent felony off ender

Fleming-Neon Police Chief Mike Dingus testified in the cases.

• Donnie Lynn Baker — complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance and being a persistent felony off ender.

Baker, 41, of 140 Seaboard Drive, Whitesburg, is charged with acting with Samuel Eugene Adkins II and/or Crystal Adkins in possessing Subutex, a Schedule III controlled substance on May 19, with the intent to sell, transfer or dispense it.

• Samuel Eugene Adkins II — complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance and being a persistent felony off ender.

Adkins, 34, of 47 William St., Jenkins, is charged with acting with Donnie Lynn Baker and/ or Crystal Adkins in possessing Subutex, a Schedule III controlled substance on May 19, with the intent to sell, transfer or dispense it.

• Crystal Brooke Adkins — complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance.

Adkins, also known as Crystal Brooke Wagner, 25, of 47 William St., Jenkins, is charged with acting with Donnie Lynn Baker and/or Samuel Adkins II in possessing Subutex, a Schedule III controlled substance, on May 19 with the intent to sell, transfer or dispense it.

• Tristan Derrick Adams — public intoxication, two counts of receiving stolen property, two counts of criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence, and being a persistent felony off ender.

The grand jury says Adams, also known as Derrick Tristan Adams, 22, of 52 Bullet Dr., Jeremiah, was under the influence of a controlled substance on June 5. He is accused of possessing a Honda XR 250-R motorcycle stolen from Paul Rittenhouse, and a Honda TRX 420 four-wheeler stolen from Gregory Amburgey. He is also charged with damaging the motorcycle and the four-wheeler, and with spray painting the motorcycle red.

• Christian Jensen Adams — two counts of complicity to receiving stolen property, two counts of criminal mischief, and tampering with physical evidence.

Adams, 20, of 52 Bullet Dr., Jeremiah, is charged with acting alone or with Derrick Tristan Adams in possessing a Honda XR 250-R motorcycle stolen from Paul Rittenhouse, and a Honda TRX 420 four-wheeler stolen from Gregory Amburgey on June 5. She is also charged with damaging the motorcycle and the four-wheeler with Derrick Tristan Adams, and with spray painting the motorcycle red.

• Ronald Brian Adams — complicity to assault.

Adams, 20, of 610 Yonts Fork, Jackhorn, is charged with acting alone or in complicity with Joshua L. Sizemore in injuring Sean Ihla with a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument on March 2.

• Joshua L. Sizemore — complicity to assault.

Sizemore, 21, of 62 Sizemore Dr., Premium, is charged with acting alone or in complicity with Ronald Brian Adams in injuring Sean Ihla with a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument on March 2.

• Rodney S. Foutch — burglary and theft by unlawful taking of a firearm.

The grand jury accuses Foutch, 23, of 505 Hwy. 3404, Partridge, of committing burglary at 170 Briar Cliff , Whitesburg, in March. He is also charged with taking firearms and other items belonging to Jerrell Bart Webb.

• Gary Wayne Smith — failure to wear seat belt, suspended/ revoked operator’s license, two counts of receiving stolen property, and being a persistent felony off ender.

Smith, 53, of 282 Marlin Lane, Ison, is charged by the grand jury with possessing railroad steel stolen from CSX Railroad, and a pickup truck stolen from Mitchell Wright on July 1. He is also accused of not wearing a seat belt and with having a suspended or revoke operator’s license.

• Thomas M. Wright — assault in the third degree, assault in the fourth degree, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and menacing.

The grand jury says Wright, 30, of 209 Kona Dr., Kona, caused or attempted to cause injury to Letcher County Deputy Mike Burton on March 2. He is accused of injuring his brother, Tim Wright, and with damaging household furnishings belong to his mother, Zelma Wright. He is also charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and with menacing Deputy Burton.

• Anthony Brown — flagrant non-support and being a persistent felony off ender.

Brown, 42, an inmate in the Letcher County Jail, is charged with owing $29,611.58 in child support for the period ending June 24.
