Ben Howard, son of Marsha and Hillard Howard, and Israel Howard, son of Brenda and Charles Howard, talked at the Howard Christmas party at Cowan Community Center. Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well and surviving all the Christmas and New Year holidays. It was busy, but I enjoyed it all. Now I don’t know what to do.

The weather was bad and I was a little under the weather. I think it was a little thing called laziness. I’m sure all of you have had that. We will survive.

A late happy birthday to Tyrone Fields. I love to hear that fellow sing and play music, and also Danielle Absher, one of our church girls.

I’ve sure missed church and Sunday School and Bro. Tony Brown’s Bible Study at Dairy Queen because of the weather. I’m glad it is much better now.

Ruth Brown, I didn’t know that Gerald Blair that died until I read it in the paper. I knew you had a brother, but I didn’t know his name.

Whitesburg correspondent Oma Hatton says, “On the left are Larry Hatton and wife Linda and on the right are Billy Hatton and wife Sandra and I’ll let you guess who the old lady in the middle is. That was at the Howard Christmas party at Cowan Community Center. It was a great party, noisy but nice. We all talk a lot.” Whitesburg correspondent Oma Hatton says, “On the left are Larry Hatton and wife Linda and on the right are Billy Hatton and wife Sandra and I’ll let you guess who the old lady in the middle is. We are all so pleased that Dorthy Miles is doing better.

My sister, Kathleen Brock, will be having surgery on Jan. 17. Please pray for her. It will be at Whitesburg Hospital. She has been having health problems for a long time.

I can’t believe it was so warm last Saturday. I hope it stays nice. My hill was icy for four or five days. I was prepared, so I didn’t try to get out. I’m a coward.

I enjoyed talking with my good friend Anna Watkins and my brother, Hillard Howard. Both of them live in Florida. That must be nice, but I love the mountains.

My sister, Betty Tyree, came out to visit last Saturday and we had a nice visit. People don’t visit much anymore, we mostly visit by telephone or Facebook. I don’t do Facebook.

I’ve talked to all four of my sons recently, and they are all doing well.

I’m glad that my brother, John, is back home. He had been in Tennessee, helping out our sister, Judy Green, and husband Johnny get settled in their new trailer. John said it was beautiful.

Well, it’s time for church. I sure didn’t have any news this week Because of the weather I’ve stayed in.

May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere, if you are able.
