I would like to know what is going on with the school channel. Is Fleming-Neon Middle School the only one that has a site-based council meeting? Isn’t there something else they can put on there besides that? I know there are other schools in this county.

.

The school system finally called school off early before it snowed. I sure am thankful.

.

I’d like to speak my piece about Letcher County Judge/Executive Jim Ward. He’s a very good judge. My mother has worked for him since he has been in office. He is a very fair person. He is doing a lot for this county. If people don’t re-elect Jim Ward, they’ll be sorry because there is no other judge that is going to do what this judge has done for us and created for us in Letcher County. Jim Ward is the best judge that we can have.

One day it’s below zero and by the weekend it was 50 degrees. What does the Bible say? You can’t tell one season from another in the last days before Jesus comes back. Let this open your eyes. Give God a chance. God bless you.

For the citizens of Jenkins, Neon, Elkhorn Creek and surrounding areas: The petition to have the hospital reopened in Jenkins is at the Jenkins Public Library and will be taken up this coming week. Anyone who has not signed and would like to sign, please go by the library. This will help the economy of our area and help the people in our area have access to quick emergency health care. Thank you so much.

The drug dealers in Wright’s Hollow have a thriving business.

.

There’s a 9-1-1 street sign in the City of Jenkins that needs to be changed from Wright’s Hollow Circle to Drugs Unlimited Circle.

.

To the beautiful woman in the black Cavalier: I saw you at the convenience store at about 2:30 in the morning recently and appeared to have followed me home. I would love to see you again sometime.

.

To the tall black-haired woman I saw in the Food City parking lot on Monday wearing the black dress pants: You are one pretty little lady.

.

After carefully considering everything that is going on, I am trying to start a petition to do away with Amendment 22 to the Constitution. I really don’t believe Obama is going to be able to completely destroy this country in the three years he has left. He’ll still need another four more years to complete the task.

.

Dear Whitesburg ARH: Will you please put in a credible pain management center in Whitesburg? The other pain centers in eastern Kentucky have so many patients they are overloaded. They need some help. People who are sick need some help. There are people with pain problems. You get a good doctor and you will find that out. Please get us good pain management.

.

Mitch McConnell wants to cut health insurance for the business people and for the unemployed to pay for unemployed.

.

It’s good to know someone that can have a DNA test done for free. I can’t believe that you don’t think about things before you do it.

.

This is from the woman in Coon Hollow. Yes, he has consumed my life for so many years. It sounds like we need to talk. You can get my cell phone number off of anyone. If there is a problem, I’m sure that I can certainly fix it. But I need to know the truth.

.

The Letcher County Recycling Center has a machine that recycles glass. Low-life pill heads stole the power cord to it rendering it inoperable. Why hasn’t anyone replaced the power cord? It has been over a year without glass recycling and a lot of glass being taken to the landfills. Jim Ward needs to get on this.

.

This comment is about the mission in Neon. How come you can’t get any good food and stuff from there anymore? It is because the workers there keep all of the good stuff for themselves even though they are supposed to give it to the poor?

.

This is to the EPA and the political system that has shut down coal mines because they say carbon dioxide from burning coal kills people, and I’m sure it does. But, what about cigarettes? They don’t shut down the cigarette factories. They don’t shut down the liquor factories. It goes on and on. So let’s just keep going like we do with liquor and cigarettes. Keep coal rolling. Keep people’s jobs. You don’t see the EPA shutting down gas stations. Look at all of the pollution that comes from gas.

.

After going to Letcher County Sheriff Danny Webb’s office the other morning I want to say to all cops: You all would be doing real good if you had the attitude of the officers in the sheriff ’s department. They had smiles on their faces. Their hands were extended. They were really nice to me. They made me feel like they cared, and I know they did.

.

To a person who would give another man a bad check without him knowing it and causing him to go to jail: It’s a shame that a person would do another person that way.

.

I’d like to say happy birthday to a friend of mine on January 17. I remember you always.

.

I would like to know if anything is going to be done about this old man who is 62 years old and is with this girl in her 30s. He had a new car when she brought him from Pikeville over here, but he doesn’t know how to get anywhere. Her uncle ended up taking the car. They charged him about $900 for rent. She has his Social Security checks. Something needs to be done. She gets food stamps and sells them for drugs. She doesn’t buy food and her uncle and someone had threatened to report her before. I don’t know if they did or not, but this is nonsense. The cops know about it. Social Services know about it. Something needs to be done.

.

Former Israel Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has passed away. He tried to give Israel’s land to the Palestinians. His death will bring on the rise of the antichrist. Jesus Christ is at the door. Repent.

.

This is to the man who drives the little red truck and sneaks around in Cumberland with his lover who is married to a real good man over in Virginia: You are out talking about me. I am your ex-wife. You don’t have a right to talk about me. I am a good woman. I have worked like a dog to raise your kids. You are out sneaking around with the wife of a good hardworking man who works in the mines every day. And you feel like you have the right to say anything about me? Let me tell you something. I don’t want my name on your lips. You are a piece of trash.

.

The Word of Almighty God, Romans 1:27. Sin will take you to eternal hell Jesus said except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Repent of your sins, turn from your evil ways and ask Jesus to save you so you won’t have to be cast into eternal hell, where there is weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Hello, hi and howdy. I’m speaking to you from the confines outside of beautiful Burgin, Ky. It seems that when you stand up for yourself, question and point out all of the consistencies of policies, procedure and protocol due to the establishment’s lack of observance of them, they have the tendency to move you around. So now I’m on another ‘tour’ of the state. Instead of Kentucky, maybe the state should be renamed ‘Crooktucky’ because we have plenty of crooks working for the state. We’ve had a former commissioner of agriculture sent to federal prison for abuse of power and mishandling of state funds. Two legislators resigned behind a sexual harassment scandal, with one of these individuals embroiled in a big scandal of his own. I’m just waiting for the spotlight to be shined on the Department of Corrections, or as I like to call it, ‘The Department of Corruptions.’ Now hold on, wait a minute, I know what some of you are saying right now: ‘Too bad, too sad, you should have thought of that before you did what you did.’ I will be the first to tell you that I deserve to be here. Prison, for the most part however, isn’t about rehabilitation, it’s about warehousing and making a profit off of the convicts and their families. Expensive phone calls, shoddy merchandise which is usually irregular or discontinued products, are sold at top dollar. I hope that you will finally learn of the deliberate indifference, malfeasance, mendacity and abuses of power that happen. I hope you learn how money is being diverted that is not being spent on the purpose of which it was intended for. In fact, it is almost common practice for wardens to get caught misusing money and happens all of the time in the system. You never hear about it because it is swept under the rug. It makes me ask the question, ‘Who is watching the people who are watching us?’ Another riot is waiting to happen. The buildings here are lined with asbestos and when it rains you can see the rainwater drip through, along with only God knows what. The medical staff is understaffed and overworked. Nepotism is rampant and the grievance mechanism here is a joke. Even if you are right and have a valid grievance, you will not win. I’m not suggesting that you run to the nearest prison and ‘hug a thug’, hold hands and sing ‘Michael Row the Boat Ashore.’ No. We’re criminals for Pete’s sake. We’re here for a reason. But I do see people leaving prison who are worse than they were when they first came in. People who may return to your communities. So, if the prisons have failed us, they have also failed you too. Until next time, I’m on the inside looking out.

This is to let all you dog owners in Whitco know I went to Walmart today and bought a high-powered pellet gun. I am going to shoot every dog that comes into my yard. This gun will put some hurt on them, especially the big red dog that has no tail, or the big gray one without a tail, plus the other dogs. I am tired of them messing in my yard. So dog owners, beware. I will shoot them as soon as they step in my yard. Maybe it will kill them and they won’t come back.
