Hatton brothers attend Bristol races

By OMA HATTON

Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well. This beautiful weather we are having should make everyone feel good.

We still have a lot of folks with health problems, but some are doing better. My sister Louise Shepherd has been in Whitesburg Hospital, but is back at home now.

My son Rob is visiting me. He and his brothers, Astor, Billy and Larry, went to the Bristol races, and they look forward to it every year for close to 20 years. I’m glad they had this perfect weather for this trip.

We have been having the best revival we’ve had in many years at Whitco Pentecostal Church with Bro. Jimmy Jewell of Ohio, and so many churches came from all over. The Richlands Church and Perry County churches and so many more have been coming. We have had a house full, and we sure appreciated it, and meeting all the people.

My great- grandson Beau Hatton and his mother Sara have been on a great vacation cruise in Nassau and Half Moon Coy in the Bahamas, and they really enjoyed it. His dad Chris didn’t get to go. He went to the Bristol Races with his dad Larry and his uncles. He always goes with them, and they always have a good time.

They came home on Sunday. They did some fishing while they were at Larry’s camper on the lake.

I went to visit my sister Louise, and she and her daughter Carol Day had gone to Virginia to have lunch. I did get to see Randall Day and his son Zack for awhile.

Randall said his sister Sybil was doing better, and his other sister, Brenda, was in rehab. I hope they will be getting better.

I called my friend Iva (Absher) Cheatham at Sanford. We hadn’t talked for a while and we had a lot to talk about. She asked about Mabel Absher and I haven’t heard how she is doing, but I don’t think she is doing very well. I haven’t heard anything of her for a while. I don’t know if she is living at her home or with some of her family.

I don’t get out much so I don’t get to see people I’d like to. I feel like I’m busy and not doing anything.

I’ve been getting a lot of calls about Larry Kevin Day’s weather reports. They look forward to hearing him, even out of state. My sister Joann Brown of Ohio says she looks forward to hearing him. He always makes you laugh, and everyone loves him.

His dad, Kevin Day, had better watch out for his job. I think Larry Kevin wants it.

I just heard my sister Louise is really sick and needs everyone’s prayers. Also, Danny Adams of Cowan. I’ve known him for many years. A good friend!

We offer our sympathy to all the Charles Sexton family. I didn’t really know him, but I know a lot of his family. They were a big family, like ours. My late husband, Clyde, went fox hunting with them, especially the late Landon Sexton.

My four sons hadn’t got home from the races while I’m writing this. They will have a lot to talk about.

Hello to all my friends I haven’t heard from. May God bless all of you, and try to be in church somewhere if you are able.
