Lillie June Ellis buried in Virginia

Lillie June Ellis, 80, died August 22 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Born in Pound, Va., to the late Willard Francis and Lillie Victoria Bolling Hubbard, she was the widow of William Charles Ellis.

She was a member of the Dunham Fundamental Baptist Church, and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family and friends.

She was the motherin law of the late Nathan Looney, and was also preceded in death by five sisters, Ruby, Hattie, Anita, Shirley, and Illia, and two brothers, James and Victor.

Sur viving are two daughters, Robin Johnson and husband John of Jenkins, and Vickie Slone and husband Denny of Howell, Mich.; two brothers, Ralph Hubbard and Howard Hubbard, both of Pound, Va.; two sisters, Ruth Meade of Raleigh, N.C., and Ollie Ellis of Jenkins; five grandchildren, John Johnson II, Morgan Bentley, Nathan Ray Looney, Jeffery Looney and Darla Bertrand; and seven great-grandchildren, Frankie, Liam, Taylor, Trey, McKenna, Dylan and Ava.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ellis were held August 24 in Whitesburg. Burial was in the Dewey Cornett Cemetery in Pound, Va.
