Rites held for Georgia Sergent

GEORGIA SERGENT (HALL) GEORGIA SERGENT (HALL) Georgia Sergent (Hall) laid down her heavy burdens and traded them for peace and rest as she entered into eternal life on Sept. 18th, 2017.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, pouring her life unselfishly into the lives of others and touching many in such a profound way in her 78 years on this earth.

Her heart and world was her family, her husband of 62 years, Richard Sergent, and children Rick Sergent (Joyce) and Debbie Resor (Billy). She adored her grandchildren, Lauren, Jordan, Bailee, Brandon, Cassie (Michael), Ben (Maria) , Tiana, Eric, and Kristin. Of all the names she was called most precious to her was Mamaw. She was so proud to be a great-grandma to Easton, Carter, Gavin, Jax and Evee, and adored her “adopted grandsons “Luis and Aaron whom she and her husband babysat for from infancy.

Her passions were having her house filled and being surrounded by her family, her treasured friendships, her beautiful flowers and her church. She was a member of North Lake Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and directed the Junior Church. She had a special heart for children and the elderly and loved taking the Junior Church choir to sing for the nursing home residents each month.

She was born and raised in Kentucky but lived out her life in Lorain and worked many jobs most notably as a cosmetologist owning and operating her own salon “Georgia’s Beauty Haven” where most of her customers also become her close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willis and Edith Hall ( Bentley), her brother Donald Hall, her nephew James Hall and her grandson Eric Resor.

She is also survived by her sister Linda Hall and many brothers and sister-in-laws and nieces and nephews including the daughters of her dear brother Don, Tracie Fritz and Jennifer Robke.

She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her so dearly and her passing leaves a great void but she would encourage you that she rests in the loving arms of her Savior and assuredly has poured out her heart to Him in behalf of those she loves asking that you make preparations to join her in her eternal home with Jesus. “I am the resurrection and the life, he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live.” John 11:25 Indeed she lives, in our hearts and yours, in our memories, and rests in the arms of Jesus until we meet her again.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 23, at 11:00 a.m. at North Lake Missionary Baptist Church; 323 North Lake Street, South Amherst. The Rev. Jayson Samons, pastor, officiates. Burial followed at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
