Hemphill gearing up for holidays

The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities Quality Awards were presented in Louisville on Nov. 16. Letcher Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation of Whitesburg received the “Best of Kentucky — Nursing and Rehabilitation Award” which honored 21 of the top Kentucky providers for outstanding care. Margie Rose Cook, SRNA Staff Coordinator, received the “Caregiving Award” and was recognized as the overall statewide winner for 2017. Nov. 24, at 7:30 p.m.: The Right Fork Ramblers are one of our bluegrass bands. They play on the fourth Friday of the month and they are a real crowd pleaser. Smooth vocals and hard driving to high lonesome is their specialty. Come on out and dance away your turkey leathergy. You will be so glad you did.

Nov. 26: Monthly shape note singing 2 to 5 p.m.

Friday Nite Pickin’: Children get in free when accompanied by an adult. Open mic at intermission. Family friendly environment.
