Theft, meth cases top latest indictment list

A Letcher Grand Jury has charged three people in connection with the theft of one motorcycle, and two more men with the theft of another motorcycle.

Matthew Ison, Pamela Mays and Ryan S. Eldridge were indicted on charges related to a motorcycle stolen from Ken Sexton on or about February 8.

Ison, 27, of 447 Johnson Fork Rd., Premium, and Mays, 40, of 137 Fall Drive, Thornton, are each charged with complicity to theft by unlawful taking over $500 but less than $10,000.

Ison is also charged with second degree criminal mischief.

Ison and Mays are charged with taking a red 2007 XR650 Series Honda motorcycle belonging to Ken Sexton. Ison is also charged with damaging the motorcycle.

Eldridge, 30, of 573 Cane Hollow, Whitesburg, is charged with receiving stolen property more than $500 but under $10,000. He is charged with receiving the motorcycle stolen by Ison and Mays, knowing it had been stolen.

In a separate case, Bradley D. Tompkins, 41, of 10745 Right Fork Rd., Pound, Va., is charged with receiving stolen property, more than $500 but under $10,000; first-degree possession of controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine, less than 2 grams); possession of drug paraphernalia; and improper registration.

Tompkins is accused of receiving a 2006 FZ-6 Yamaha motorcycle belonging to Charles Medders, knowing it had been stolen.

Bryce W. Baker, 35, of 352 Pine Creek, Mayking, is charged with receiving stolen property more than $500 but under $10,000 and of being a first-degree persistent felony offender.

Baker is also accused of receiving the same Yamaha motorcycle as Tompkins, knowing it had been stolen.

Others indicted by the grand jury were as follows:

• Darrell Wade Wyatt Jr. is charged with illegal use/ possession of drug paraphernalia; disorderly conduct; prescription drug not in container; public intoxication (excludes alcohol); criminal possession of controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine); criminal possession of a controlled substance (Oxy- Contin); first-degree trafficking in controlled substance (2 or more grams), first offense, (methamphetamine); first-degree trafficking in controlled substance (less than 10 dosage units), first offense (Suboxone); first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (less than 10 dosage units), first offense (OxyContin); third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, first offense; and third-degree trafficking in controlled substance (120 or more grams).

Wyatt, 38, of # 1 58 Wheaton Hollow, Jenkins, is charged with appearing in a public place under the influence of a controlled substance and creating a disturbance. He is also accused of possessing methamphetamine, OxyContin and Suboxone with the intent of trafficking in them.

• Christopher D. Hughes, 35, of 591 Apple Tree Branch, Deane, is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense; first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine, less than 2 grams); unlawful possession of a meth precursor, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; first-degree fleeing or evading police; resisting arrest; second degree possession of a controlled substance (Subutex); third-degree possession of a controlled substance, (Gabepentin); failure to maintain insurance/security, first offense; operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license; failure to produce insurance card; failure to wear seat belts; reckless driving; failure to or improper signal; and obstruction of vision and/ or windshield.

• Joshua Ison, 36, of 1458 Kingdom Come Creek, Whitesburg, is charged with third-degree burglary; theft by unlawful taking over $500 but less than $10,000; and second degree criminal mischief.

Ison is accused of taking various power tools, a Yeti cooler, and ladders valued at $3,751 belonging to Callie Horn Blair and damaging the front door, including the door facing and window, belonging to her.

• Randall J. Donnelly, 41, of 163 Donnelly Drive, Isom, is accused of first-degree promoting contraband; first- degree possession of controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine); possession of marijuana; and public intoxication.

Donnelly is charged with being in the Letcher County Jail with a plastic bag containing a substance appearing to be marijuana and two smaller bags containing a substance appearing to be methamphetamine.

• Bradley K. Fugate, 60, of 158 Box Rock Road, Mayking, is charged with complicity to trafficking in marijuana more than 8 ounces but less than 5 pounds; complicity to cultivation of marijuana 5 or more plants; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fugate is charged with acting with Jeffrey Fugate in trafficking in marijuana and cultivating marijuana. No indictment for Jeffrey Fugate was included.

• Jeremy Ritchie, 35, of P.O. Box 333, Neon, is charged with first-degree bail jumping and being a persistent felony offender.

Ritchie is accused of failing to appear for a jury trial in Letcher Circuit Court for flagrant non-support.

• Michael Rayburn Jr., 41, of 100 Astor Fields Road, Whitesburg, is charged with bail jumping, first degree.

Rayburn failed to appear for a jury trial in Letcher Circuit Court for wanton endangerment.
