Hughes graduates



Whitesburg native Jolene Hughes was graduated from Bellarmine University with a bachelor of science degree in clinical lab science. A 2001 graduate of Whitesburg High School, she is the daughter of Barbara Hughes and Hank Craft.

Square dance set

Amanda Wright Brown was graduated from the nursing program and Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. She is working at Holston Valley Hospital while continuing her education.

Day recognized as high honor student



Allison Day of Whitesburg, was recognized by the University of the Cumberlands as a high honor student during the school’s annual Honor’s Day service. She is an elementary education major. High honor recognition is given to those students earning a 3.85 grade point average.

Organ recital planned at Whitesburg church



An organ recital will be held at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 22. Church organist Robert C.
