Dylan Perry, the center, and Kathy Province, a cheerleader, of Dandridge, Tenn., were football homecoming candidates at Dandridge Elementary School. They finished as second runners up. The Bronco football team’s record is 6-1. He is the son of Chris and Michelle Perry. His grandparents are Terry and Colleen Hatfield of Dandridge, and Frank and Geraldine Perry of Whitesburg.

Blood drive to be held October 31

A blood drive will be held from noon to 7 p.m., Oct. 31, at Whitesburg Plaza. The drive is sponsored by Whitesburg Al- Mart and the Central Kentucky Blood Center. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health. For more information, call (800) 775-2522.

Benefit lunch set

The Church of God of Prophecy at Burdine will have hotdogs with homemade chili, fried pies, soup beans and cornbread for sale beginning at 9:30 a.m., Nov. 4, in the auxiliary building. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Ladies Ministries. For more information, call 832-4750 or 832-4974.

Dress-up party set

A dress-up party — nothing scary, please — will be held at Kids’ Time at Eolia Christian Community Center on Friday, Oct. 30, beginning at 10 a.m. The party will include cupcakes, pretzels, apple cider, and hayrides and is open to preschool and home-schooled children.
