Extension office to sell plants



The Letcher County Extension Service has fruit and nut plants for sale at cost to Letcher County residents. The plants are University of Kentucky-recommended varieties that grow well in eastern Kentucky. Orders are being taken for blackberries, black raspberries, red raspberries, and strawberries, as well as VSH queens for beekeepers. For more information, call 633-2362.

Four Letcher County students have been named to the President’s Honor List at Hazard Community and Technical College for the fall semester. The students are Stewart Machlyn Blair of Jeremiah, Billy Michael Kiser of Millstone, and Tymekia Nicole Lumpkins and Laura Laverne Roark, both of Hallie. Students named to the President’s Honor List must earn a 4.0 grade point average.
