Bands to battle



The Mountain Heritage Festival Committee is searching for local amateur bands to “show us what you’ve got!” in a battle of the bands. Competition will be on Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 8-11 p.m. A cash prize will be awarded to the winner. For more information, call Lee Anna at 633-9644.

Static to play Sat., Sept. 11



Whitesburg American Legion Post, Pine Mountain, Highway 119, will hold a dance Saturday, Sept. 11, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Static, a new local band, will perform. Attendees must be at least 21 years old. Karaoke is held every Friday night from 8 p.m. to midnight. For more information, call 633-2834.
