13 face drug charges



Thirteen people have been indicted on drug charges by the Letcher Grand Jury. Those named in the 21 indictments are:

• Mark Wayne Adams — two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance and possessing a firearm.

Adams, 41, of 26 Cat Drive, Isom, is named in two indictments. In one indictment, he is charged with complicity with Orleen Jones Breeding in trafficking in hydrocodone to a cooperating witness of the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force while in possession of a firearm on Dec. 4.

In the other indictment, he is charged with trafficking in oxycodone and hydrocodone on Nov. 30.

• Orleen Jones Breeding — complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance.

Breeding, 35, 5635 Hwy. 160, Littcar, is charged with complicity with Mark Wayne Adams in trafficking in hydrocodone to a cooperating witness of the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department and the HIDTA Task Force on Dec. 4 while in possession of a firearm.

• Katina Lynn Bentley — traffi cking in a controlled substance.

The grand jury says, Bentley, 31, 399 Misty Branch, Seco, sold oxycodone to a cooperating witness of the Kentucky State Police on Dec. 23, 2008.

Kentucky State Police Detective Ben Campbell testified in the case.

• Homer Breeding — trafficking in a controlled substance.

Breeding, 54, 455 Stamper’s Branch, Isom, is accused of selling oxycodone to a cooperating witness of the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department and the HIDTA Task Force on Nov. 17.

• Betty Sue Donelow — two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in marijuana.

The grand jury says Donelow, 47, 24 Little Oak St., Goodwater Falls Apartments, Jenkins, sold oxycodone, Suboxone and marijuana to a cooperating witness of the Kentucky State Police on June 8.

• Margaret Ann Harris — two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Harris, 47, 399 Misty Branch, Seco, is charged in two indictments with trafficking in oxycodone and OxyContin to a cooperating witness of the Kentucky State Police on June 15 She is also accused of having marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her possession.

Kentucky State Police Detective Ben Campbell testified in the cases.

• Timothy N. Jent —trafficking in a controlled substance, two counts complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance, and three counts of being a persistent felony off ender.

Jent, 37, 81 Little Colley Rd., Isom, is named in three separate indictments. In two of the indictments he is charged with trafficking in cocaine in complicity with Gary Wayne Smith on April 8, 2009 and April 13, 2009. He is also accused of trafficking in cocaine to a cooperating witness of the Kentucky State Police on April 6, 2009.

Kentucky State Police Detective Ben Campbell testified in the cases.

• Gary Wayne Smith — three counts of complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance, two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, and being a persistent felony off ender.

The grand jury charges Smith, 52, 228 Marlins Lane, Isom, in three indictments with trafficking in cocaine in complicity with Timothy N. Jent on April 8, 2009, April 13, 2009, and April 14, 2009. He is also charged with trafficking in hydrocodone. In a fourth indictment, Smith is accused of trafficking in cocaine on April 9, 2009.

Kentucky State Police Detective Ben Campbell testified in the cases.

• Allen L. Mullins Sr. — complicity to trafficking in a controlled substance.

Mullins, 63, 778 KY Hwy. 3400 (Fishpond), Jenkins, is charged with complicity to trafficking in oxycodone with Heather R. Mullins, also known as Heather R. Hall, on Dec. 30, 2008.

Kentucky State Police Detective Crandle Hurt testified in the case.

• Charles ‘Bud’ Perry — four counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and being a persistent felony off ender.

The grand jury says Perry, 47, who is now a prisoner at the Marion Adjustment Center in St. Mary, sold cocaine to a cooperating witness of the Kentucky State Police on Jan. 20, 2006, Feb. 1, 2006, Feb. 2, 2006, and Feb. 24, 2006.

Kentucky State Police Detective Randy Combs testified in the case.

• Lawson Sexton — three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and trafficking in marijuana.

Sexton, 68, 2942 Hwy. 317, Jackhorn, is charged in two indictments with trafficking in oxycodone, hydrocodone and marijuana to a cooperating witness of the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department and the Kentucky State Police on July 8. He is accused in a second indictment of selling hydrocodone, also on July 8.

• Stanley Lee Sexton — two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance.

The grand jury says Sexton, 57, 7759 Hwy. 931 N, Whitesburg, trafficked in oxycodone and Alprazolan on July 14 to a cooperating witness of the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department and the HITDA Task Force.

• Brenda Lee Webb — trafficking in a controlled substance.

Webb, 49, 512 Hwy. 3410, Mayking, is charged with trafficking in oxycodone to a cooperating witness of the Letcher County Sheriff ’s Department and the HITDA Task Force on May 11.
