Thirteen persons have filed to run for various offices in the Nov. 2 General Election.
G.C. Kincer and current Jenkins City Council member Todd DePriest have filed papers to run for mayor of Jenkins. Incumbent Terry Braddock, Garnett Bentley and Robert Adams have all filed to run for Jenkins City Council.
Incumbent Susan Polis and Joe Brown are candidates for mayor of Neon.
Incumbents John Williams and Freda M. McFall are running for re-election for Whitesburg City Council.
Incumbent Eileen Sanders filed papers to run for re-election as a member of the Jenkins Independent Board of Education.
Incumbent Sam W. Quillen and Ellis Keyes have filed paperwork to run for members of the Letcher County Board of Education.
Incumbent Thomas Dollarhide is running for another term as a board member of the Letcher County Conservation District.
Twelve other men and women have picked up papers to run for office, but have not returned them to make their candidacy official.
Jason Griffith and Jeff L. ‘Mick’ Polly picked up papers showing interested in running for Whitesburg City Council. Incumbents Chuck Anderson and Richard Damron as well as Linda Baldwin and Willie Stanley have picked up papers to run for Jenkins City Council. Incumbents James D. Collins and Robert Champion as well as Price Kenneth Mullins picked up papers to run for Neon City Council.
Incumbent Durward Narramore Jr. and Laura Revis picked up papers showing interest in running for Jenkins Independent Board of Education. Gerald Hacker picked up papers to run for Letcher County Board of Education.
Deadline to file is 4 p.m. on Aug. 10.
