4 face drug charges

After Letcher County sheriff ‘s deputies arrested four people on drug trafficking charges this week, Sheriff Danny Webb said at least 20 more arrests will be made in the coming months.

Sgt. Brian Damron of the sheriff’s department said the arrests come after a month-long investigation.

Those arrested and the charges against them are:

• Regina Moore (also known as G.G.), 32, of Goose Creek Apartments, Neon — first-degree trafficking in the controlled substance OxyContin.

• Terry Christopher Cantrell, 53, of 48 Burdine Road, Jenkins — firstdegree trafficking in OxyContin within 1,000 yards of a school.

• Joanna Davis, 24, of Apartment 386, Mountain Breeze Apartments, Jenkins — second-degree trafficking in the controlled substance hydrocodone.

• Melody Wyatt, 45, of 210 Store Hill Road, Jenkins — second-degree trafficking the controlled substance hydrocodone.

Damron said the sheriff ‘s department was assisted in the investigation and subsequent arrests in the Jenkins area by the Jenkins Police Department.

Damron said police learned during the investigation that drugs continue to be brought into Letcher County from out-of-state.

Damron asks that anyone with information about drug trafficking in Letcher County to call the sheriff’s department at 633-2293. He said callers can remain anonymous.
