5 plead guilty

Five people have entered guilty pleas in Letcher Circuit Court to charges against them. They are:

• Shane Allen Brown, 23, who pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal abuse. He was sentenced to seven years imprisonment probated for five years. Brown was also ordered to pay any counseling costs for the minor child whom he abused.

• Destinee Alaina Brown, 24, who pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal abuse and failure to report child abuse. She was sentenced to five years imprisonment probated for five years for the abuse charge and 90 days in the county jail for failure to report child abuse.

• Kimberly N. Boykin, 30, of 487 Thicket Branch, Whitesburg, who pleaded guilty to second-degree assault (domestic violence) and public intoxication (excludes alcohol). She was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment probated for five years on the assault charge and to 90 days in the county jail on the intoxication charge.

• Raleigh D. Terry, 36, of 11206 Hwy. 15, Jeremiah, who pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property under $500. He was sentenced to 12 months in the county jail probated for two years and was ordered to pay restitution of $908 within six months to Kentucky River Properties of Hazard.

• Amanda Danyel Seals, 41, of 414 Saluted Creek, Whitesburg, who pleaded guilty to second-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and third-degree possession of controlled substance (drug unspecified, second offense). She was sentenced to 12 months in the county jail on the second-degree possession charge to run concurrently with any sentence she is currently serving, 90 days in the county jail on the drug paraphernalia charge, and 90 days in the county jail on the third-degree possession charge.
