5 students receive scholarships




Five Letcher County students are receiving college scholarships for the fall semester from Letcher County Kentucky Farm Bureau. The students are:

• Joshua Potter, son of Jody and Contrena Potter of Burdine. Potter, a graduate of Jenkins High School, will major in criminal psychology in college.

• Keith D. Wright, son of Lisa Wright of Jenkins. He is also a Jenkins High School graduate and will attend the University of Virginia’s College at Wise.

• Corey A. Wright, son of Chad and Vickie Wright of Jenkins. A graduate of Letcher County Central High School, he will attend Alice Lloyd College and major in special education.

• Zachary R. Adams, son of Larry and Lee Adams of Whitesburg. He is a graduate of Letcher County Central High School and will major in mathematics at Alice Lloyd College.

• John C. Taylor, son of Terry and Cathy Taylor. A Letcher County Central High School graduate, he will major in pharmacy at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College.
