About 65 people attended a Valentine’s Day party at the Ermine Senior Citizens Center. The Jenkins senior citizens came to be with us. Glad to have you all; come back again. Also, County Judge Jim Ward was there.

We had lots of fun and good food – lots of it. We played games and gave away prizes.

Kathy Palumbo won the door prize, a beautiful vase of red roses donated by Messenger Florist. Metry Kuracka won a gift card for $20 to Pine Mountain Grill and Sarah Dunlop won a $10 gift card to Pine Mountain Grill, both donated by Pine Mountain Grill. Yvonne Hammock and Carl Parrott won gift certificates for four to Pizza Hut donated by Pizza Hut.

Better luck next time, Lizzie Mae.

Billy Paul Frazier won a large box of Valentine candy and a stuffed bear donated by Parkway Pharmacy. Nine people won boxes of Valentine candy, and seven won cakes in the cakewalk,

Bobby Bentley brought a large ice cream cake that said “Happy Valentine’s Day, Pretty Ladies.” Wasn’t that nice of him?

We’d like to thank Messenger Florist, Pine Mountain Grill, Pizza Hut and Parkway Pharmacy for the gifts given to us. Thanks again, you helped make our party a great success. We’re looking forward to the next one on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. If you are a senior citizen, come and join us and get in on the fun.

Debbie Slone, our site manager, had surgery and couldn’t be with us at our party. We missed you, Debbie. Hurry back soon.

Thanks to the workers at our center for the help given to us. Thanks to Elisha and daughter for decorating our center, and Elisha’s husband for cutting the large red heart for the wall. Thanks to Mark, Gearldine and Michelle for the food they brought and helpin. Thanks to all you guys. We couldn’t have pulled it off without you. And thanks to all our seniors and others for the good food. It was wonderful.

May God bless you all.
