7 indictments charging man with sex abuse are unsealed in circuit court

Letcher Circuit Judge Sam Wright unsealed seven indictments charging an Isom man with sexual abuse after the suspect was arrested over the weekend.

The indictments, handed up to Wright by the Letcher County Grand Jury, charge David Scott Halcomb, 41, of 555 Daniels Branch, with seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse and seven counts of intimidating a witness.

Halcomb is accused of subjecting a juvenile who was less than 16 years old to sexual contact on several occasions between July 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012.

The grand jury charges that Halcomb threatened physical harm to keep the victim from telling law enforcement about the instances of sexual abuse.
