Activities, events draw tourists to Bardstown

Wow! The town has been crowded with tourists walking all over town. There are tons of activities and events that locals can enjoy just as much as the visitors who have driven from all over to partake of them.

After a sunny, hot week and a half with no rain in sight, we finally had a small thundershower on Thursday and sprinkles on Friday morning. It was a nice relief. On Friday gas and water had to be turned off due to someone digging through a line. It was fixed by 8 o’clock that night and everything resumed as usual.

On Saturday, Julie Rummage and her kids traveled to Tennessee to visit her two sons who live there.

Tracy Cissell is now wearing her engagement ring. She and Jimmy Barger are planning to wed in August. His 4-year-old daughter, Lauralynn, will be moving to Bardstown from Corbin to be with them next week.

Recent happy fourth birthday to Hannah Rummage, daughter of Julie and Jeff Rummage. They celebrated with a party at home with friends and family. Hannah has a brother and sister, Ava Isabelle “Izzy” and Gavin, who are 22 months old. They celebrate their birthday on August 4.

Prayer list this week includes Jim Hardesty, John Rayburn, June Clark, Inez Hampton, Cameron Boone, Ellen Boone, Judy Branham, Tracy Cissell, Raven Hall, Geraldine Burton, and Gavin Rummage.

A new post office is being built one block over and looks like it will have a larger parking area and be easier to get in and out of than the other two.

St. Vincent De Paul’s Mission Store is always accepting donations of clothing, food, furniture and appliance items.

I guess that is all the news for this week. God bless you all.
