Alford Roark, 45, dies



Alford Roark, 45, of Kingscreek, died June 29 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Healthcare Center.

A son of Dean Fields Roark of Kingscreek and the late George Roark, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Parrot and Lona Roark; maternal grandparents, “Big Ack” Astor and Glenna Fields; and father-in-law to be, Gary “Fuzz” Gentry.

Mr. Roark was a member of the Kingscreek Fire Department Unit#913 and the Pine Mountain Worship Center. He enjoyed cooking, wrestling, NFL Patriot Football and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his mother are a daughter, MaKinley Faith Roark of Kingscreek; his fiancée, Angelina Gentry of Roxana; his mother-in-law to be, Abbetina Gentry of Roxana; his sisters-in-law to be, Candace Gentry and Jessica Lewis and husband Anthony; and a special coworker, Gary Hall.

Funeral services were held July 3 at Letcher Funeral. Burial was in the Hogg Cemetery at Roxana.

In lieu of flowers of donations are suggested to help with the funeral expenses.
