Alice Maggard dies at 91




Alice Wilder Maggard, 91, of Corbin, died February 10 at Heritage Nursing Home.

Born in Bell County to the late Leonard and Ellen Jones Wilder, she was the widow of Paschal Maggard.

She was the mother of the late Lola Maggard and a sister of the late Warden Wilder, Lewis Wilder, Harley Wilder, Jack Wilder, Ida Davis, Mildred Shelton, Gladys McDonald, Jolene Moreland and Lavere Miracle.

She was retired from the Corbin Hospital, was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Corbin, and was past president of the Prime Timers Auxiliary of the First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by a son, Bill Maggard and wife Hazel of Louisville; two daughters, Pat Maggard Stamper and husband Steve of Corbin, and Ella Maggard Sizemore and husband John, of London; two brothers, Ray Wilder, of Bell County, and Hiram Wilder, of Florida; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 12 in Corbin. Burial was in Sandlick Cemetery in Whitesburg.
