Funeral services for Altia Thomas, 75, were to be held Wednesday (June 7) at 11 a.m., at the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Laurel Fork Cemetery at Jenkins.
A daughter of the late Ruth Craft Taylor and Dewey Thomas, she died June 2 at her home on Craft Branch.
She was a stepdaughter of the late Eugene “Doc” Taylor.
She was the mother of infant son James Kennett, and a sister of the late Carl Junior Polly, Jimmy Taylor and Donnie Taylor, and a sister-in-law of the late Jay Vanover.
She was an aunt of the late “Little Jay” Vanover.
Ms. Thomas was a member of the Millstone Missionary Baptist Church, and enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with her family.
Surviving are her nephew, Daniel Bentley and wife Caitlyn; six sisters, Alpha Miller and husband Alvin, Peggy Vanover, Connie Adams and husband, Susie Hart and husband Jeff, Loretta Taylor, and Kathy Bentley and husband Danny; three sisters-in-law, Rosetta Polly, Judy Taylor and Shelia Taylor.
