Amanda B. Blair succumbs at 99





Amanda B. Blair died September 30 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital, just days short of her 100th birthday.

She was born in Letcher County on October 8, 1907 to the late Ned and Betty Mitchell Polly. She was the widow of Preston Blair, and a sister of the late Anthony Polly, Charlie Polly, Jim Polly, Henry Polly, Fess Polly, George Polly, Bob Polly, Wilson Polly, Cora Ratliff, Maggie Wheeler, and Elvie Dixon.

Mrs. Blair was a member of the Indian Bottom Association of the Old Regular Baptist Church and attended the Litt Carr Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Juanita Wampler, Dayton, Ohio, and Pauline Adams, Mayking; a sister, Callie Halcomb, Linefork; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Schaefer, Pittsburgh, Penn., and Ricky Adams, Mayking; and a great-grandson, Paul Schaefer, Dayton, Ohio.

Funeral services were held October 4 at Everidge Funeral Home. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
