Serena Anderson was recently honored by Jenkins Independent Schools for being named a Transformational Leadership Fellow for Appalachian Renaissance Initiative.
The new initiative is supported by the Appalachian Renaissance Initiative in collaboration with the University of Kentucky Next Generation Leadership team. Anderson was one of eight school and/or district leaders from the Kentucky Valley Educational Cooperative region invited to become Transformational Leadership Fellows.
The TLF initiative has three main goals:
1) to develop leadership capacity by working collaboratively to create tools, products, and solutions for solving problems of practice in schools and districts across the region;
2) to identify and support teacher and leader talents;
3) to support the growth and effectiveness of teachers.
TLFs will participate in various training sessions throughout the year as well as participation in regular virtual collaborative inquiry sessions. They will also participate in the ARI Promising Practices and Action Research Summits in October and April respectively.
