’The Diary of Anne Frank’ will be staged in Pound on Thursday, Sept. 30, by Barter Theatre On Tour.
This is the story of a young girl who has touched the lives of those who have read her famous diary.
For two years and a month during World War II, young Anne and her family hid from the Nazis in a secret annex in Amsterdam. The world knows what their lives were like during those years because she kept an extensive diary of her experiences.
Her diary, which ends three days before the Frank family and their group were discovered by the Nazis, was found and published by friends. ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ is a dramatization of her notes, originally published in English in 1952 as ‘The Diary of a Young Girl.’
The drama opens at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 30, in the Performing Arts Center at Pound, Va. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $6 for students.
