Anonymous donor buys Christmas dinner at Hazard Veterans Center

Hello, everyone. Hope all of you are doing well. I guess Christmas will be over by this time. I hope you had a great holiday with your family and friends.

It sure doesn’t seem like Christmas weather. I think we saw 60-degree temperatures Saturday. But I’ll sure take it and wait for the snow. So many are traveling and I hope they have a safe trip.

There has been a lot going on at the Veterans Center in Hazard. They had their Christmas dinner Dec. 19. Shirley Breeding and I went down and ate with our husbands. When we started to pay for our dinners, they said a donor who didn’t want his name known paid for all our dinners. Wasn’t that nice? Whoever you are, we all appreciated it. It was a good meal. Thank you very much!

They had a big party for the veterans on Thursday night. They said the place was packed. They had gifts and treats for all. We didn’t go to that one. They were having one on Friday. They had things going on all day, singing and a big party that evening. There were gifts for all the veterans. A Church of God of Harlan brought gift bags for all and the little children gave them out. They all sang and Shirley played keyboard. The U.S. Marines had a pair of sweatpants with their logo on them for all the veterans. It was a good day all day long. I think we stayed for six or seven hours. Santa Claus was there.
