I’m ashamed of myself. I was asked to march with our veterans in a parade again this year, and to meet with my Disabled American Veterans. I did neither.
During my 27-year military career, I had the distinct opportunity to meet veterans over most of the world. I’ve met Americans who’ve represented the highest levels of service to our country.
It only takes a few minutes to understand why we should never take for granted our service and why we should all give thanks for what we enjoy each day.
You vets take a moment to reflect on your personal reasons for serving our country. Think about those with whom you served in the past, and always appreciate vets and thank them for their service.
Thanks again for you service.
