Archie and Margaret Fields mark 19th anniversary

Big Cowan

A big happy New Year’s birthday to Carla Maggard. She is married to Tony Maggard and they have one daughter, Destiny. Also, a happy New Year’s birthday to Michael Scudder of Greensburg, Ind. Hope you both had a great one.

Archie and Margaret (Pack) Fields were married 19 years on New Year’s Day. Happy anniversary to both of you.

My granddaughters went back home on New Year’s Eve. Their dad met us at Lexington to pick them up. Ashley needed to get back for a youth conference at Indy for their church. Rebecca had to get back for basketball and Michaela just had to go back with them. She really hated to leave her Nona and Papa. I will miss them but look forward to when they visit again.

Well, this is a new year. Can’t wait to see what is in store for us and our country with the new president. No matter who got elected, we still need to show our respect and just pray for him.

All of our family that have been sick seem to be on the mend. Hope they have a better year than last year.

The Freewill Baptist Church of Whitesburg, located at Whitco, went up to Craft’s Colly Baptist Church on New Year’s Eve to pray the old year out and the new year in. The following members from Freewill attended: Johnny and Anna Collier, Marvin and Arlene Taylor and Chris, Marvin Jr., Pam, Taylor, Cierra and Greg Fields, Linda, Rick and Christy Polly, Charlie and Ann Adams, James and Christine Fields, Mike Fields, Melinda Daniel, and Wayne and Tammy Turner. We really enjoyed some good singing, fellowship and snacks. All had a good time and the pastor, J.R. Bates, and his congregation were very friendly.

Please keep Pastor Johnny Collier in your prayers. He is suffering from Bell’s palsy on the left side of his face. He doesn’t let this stop him from preaching, but loud sounds bother him. We love you, Bro. Johnny.

Wayne and Tammy Turner’s daughter and her husband and two daughters — one four days old — were in from Texas for the holidays. They had to leave on Saturday. Her husband is in the service and had to get back. Keep them in your prayers. I know Tammy and Wayne will miss them a lot. They helped with the Santa Truck Train while they were here.

My husband, James, is enjoying his vacation down here and is looking forward to being her permanently. If he would just slow down a little bit and stop driving me crazy, we will be OK.

Hello to all my friends and family in Indiana and may you have a happy new year and to my Uncle Isom in Tennessee. Sorry I didn’t get to visit with you very long. Hope to see you soon. He came in for Ina Vae Fields’s funeral and came by to visit and I was gone to Archie’s for a gift exchange. So the only time I saw him was at the viewing.

Sorry to hear about Hagel Campbell dying Jan. 1. Our sympathy goes out to his family. His daughter, Jenny, is married to my cousin, Francis Day.
