Happy New Year everyone. I’m glad Christmas is behind us, but it sure was a beautiful Christmas Day. That is the one time of year that I really want to see snow.
Sorry for not having any news last week. The weather being bad, I wasn’t able to get out much to find out anything.
I did hear that Cathy and Keith Boggs are new grandparents. On Christmas Eve, their daughter Hannah Boggs Day and her husband David Day gave birth to their son Payton Isaiah Day. Congratulations to all. I saw a picture of him and he is a handsome little fellow, 8 pounds, 1.7 ounces, and 20 ½ inches long.
My brother Archie and his wife Margaret Pack Fields were married 21 years on Jan. 1. Happy anniversary, and we love both of you.
Astor Jr. and Allen Pack are both back in the hospital with complications from their surgeries. Roy Wayne Fields is home and doing well. Keep all of them in your prayers, as well as Elijah Sandlin. He has been in the hospital and has a lot of pain.
I really enjoyed the heat wave we had, and the rain. I’m glad to see the snow move on out.
I didn’t do anything New Year’s Eve except play games on Direct TV and listen to funny stories being texted to my granddaughters and son and daughter-in-law. It sounded like they had a real good time.
Usually I go to New Year’s Eve services at church, but since we don’t have a home church to go to we stayed home for a change. We watched ‘ Wild Hogs’ on TV and just enjoyed the evening.
My brother Archie and Margaret stopped by on New Year’s Day and visited a long time. Carla Maggard turned 40 Jan. 1, and we want to wish her a belated happy birthday. She is married to Tony Maggard and has a daughter, Destiny.
Johnny Collier is in the hospital and needs everyone’s prayers, as well as Tim Amburgey.
Sorry to hear that Kathy Slone died. I didn’t know her, but I know some of her family members and our sympathy goes to the family. She will be missed.
Thanks to Carol Ison for the homemade gingerbread cookies. They were delicious and are all gone, and they sure hit the spot.
Prayer list this week: Anna Lou Maggard Combs, Mary Lou Fields, Irene and Eugene Day, Mary Ann Maggard, Hazel and Michael Rayburn, Astor Fields Jr., Jim Howard Banks, Archie Fields, Allen Pack, Della and Morris Maggard, and Mandy King, who turned 78 on Jan 1.
Tammy and Wayne Turner’s daughter, Melissa Nicely, and family returned to Texas Saturday after being here for the holidays.
Stacy and Rick Dobson spent the holidays in Indiana.
I talked on the phone with Tim Amburgey at Pikeville Hospital Saturday night. He said that he was doing some better and he should be home soon. Hurry up and get well, Tim.
Well, I’m sorry this is so short. Maybe I’ll have more next time. All have a good year, and may God bless all of you.
