Are you about ready for Santa Claus?

Hope everyone is staying warm. Another winter storm is here and it’s so cold.

Are you ready for Santa? I have my shopping done and I’m so glad. I can’t wait to see the little ones open their gifts. Being together is so important to me.

My brother Warren had a pacemaker put in this past Friday and is home and doing really well. He says he’s like the energizer bunny and it looks like that fits him to a tee. Our prayers were answered and we thank God for all who remembered him in prayer. My sister Linda is doing pretty well. She’s still waiting for her surgery for the tumor.

Our thoughts and prayers to the families of James Braddock, Bennie Johnson, Faye Taylor and Glenda Carol Sexton. May God bless each member of these families as they cope with the loss.

Bennie Johnson did printing for us and we got to know him to be honest and very easy to work with. He did our first book and then we grew so fast, he was a one-man company and he sent us on to someone who could help us more. You never forget people like that.

The Christmas parade and all the festivities in Whitesburg were a great success. Santa and Mrs. Claus did a fantastic job and made so many children happy. The animals were a big hit with the children also. Thanks to the Kids Day Committee and all who participated to make this such an enjoyable occasion. We are all kids at heart.

Edsel, Carol, Keith and Kaylee Baker spent a couple days in Pigeon Forge. I think Kaylee enjoys Bass Pro as much as her dad and pappa do. She got to visit with Santa and have her picture made with him at Bass Pro. She is talking so good now and is so smart. Oh, she wants to wish Aunt Eva a very merry Christmas.

Greg, Sharon and Amanda Holbrook spent the weekend in Pigeon Forge and just barely beat the storm home. I called to see if they were home and Miss Rylee was determined not to wear her elf outfit. She can be stubborn.

Colson seniors have had a busy few days, getting everything finished for the at-home seniors. They will be going to Pigeon Forge if the weather is permissible this week to see the lights.

Get well wishes are being sent out to Geraldine Hall, Ted Thornsberry and all who are in need of healing.
