We have been busy, and have taken several shopping trips. We went to Hazard and ate at Bonanza. We like to eat there.
We went to the senior get-together at Hazard, and seniors from the whole area were there. There was a group of singers who sang some very pretty songs, which were gospel songs.
We had lunch there, and on our way home we stopped and had ice cream and stopped at got fruit at a fruit stand. We got some of the best peaches.
We have had some visitors in July and August. We have had several potluck dinners, too. That’s always a special day, and we have big crowds on that day.
I would like to say thanks to Janie Caudill. She does a lot to help our center. We play games. The ladies work puzzles, too. They have put together some very pretty ones!
I guess you could call us ‘Puzzle City!’
Our manager, Vickie Collins, had to leave quickly on Thursday, Aug. 12, as her husband, Jerry Collins, was being sent to Lexington. He had a heart blockage. We all love Vickie.
I kind of think, from what I hear, that we don’t count down here, but they just ought to drop by sometimes. We have things planned for the coming days.
We want to do natural things that make sense, after all, we are seniors, or maybe ‘recycled teenagers!’
Love and best wishes to Betty We miss you and Tommy. Take care.
I hope everyone will pray for our country often. God is so good to us.
With this, I’ll say God bless all our seniors in Letcher County.
