Hello everyone, we are midway through October and the weather has been very fallish. It’s good to have the cooler weather. I’m hoping we don’t have snow anytime soon but I know it’s coming.
Janice and Ron Wolod of Stevensville, Md., and Thelma and Glennon Ison of Flemingsburg, came in during the middle of the week. They will be staying until the middle of this week.
Jan and Ron have a place on Little Cowan and Thelma and Glennon have a place on Kingdom Come. Janice and Thelma were my mom’s sisters. It’s good to have aunts and uncles visit.
Wesley and Mallie Yonts of Morehead came in with their children to visit Wes’s grandparents, Anna and Duane Yonts of Little Cowan. Anna and Duane were looking forward to the visit.
Tori, Rusty, Callie, and Ella Akers of Talbott, Tenn.came in to visit her parents, John and Barbara Banks of Cowan. It was good seeing them all at church.
Michael Campbell of Newport came in to visit his dad, John and Faye Campbell, over the weekend. Addison Marr of Berea came in with her Uncle Mike, as she wanted to visit her Pa and Nan. Addison is the daughter of Janis and Michael Marr of Berea.
Faye Campbell is out of the hospital. It’s good to have her home. Mike and I were visiting her in the hospital when the doctor came in and said she could go home. It was good news.
Mike and I are looking forward to the Whitesburg Octoberfest. It sounds like a good time. I just hope it doesn’t rain.
My brother has two dogs, Buddy and Lady. Buddy comes to visit a lot so he can get a dog biscuit. On Sunday, my brother walked in and Lady followed him.
This is unusual for Lady but she was on a mission. She looked at me and I told her if she wanted a biscuit, she had to ask Mike.
Lady walked into the kitchen and looked at Mike. She got her dog biscuit and left. About five minutes later, I opened the front door to leave and there stood Buddy.
He wanted his biscuit. The dogs talk to each other about the biscuits. Buddy does get more biscuits than Lady as he’s down here more often. Those dogs do entertain us.
Mike’s birthday is on Oct. 14. I’m wishing him a happy birthday and a great year.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. When I use to teach for Job Corps, one of the subjects I taught was health and I did a lesson on cancer including breast cancer.
I made sure to let all of the students know that men could get breast cancer also. A few already knew that from family members and some learned something new. Please support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This week’s quote is: “Invest in yourself. Meditate. Read. Eat healthy food. Drink water. Move your body. Spend time in nature. Rest up. You are worthy.”
If you have any news, please email me at email@example.com. Thanks. Enjoy the week and the lovely weather.
