Author, artist here for Artwalk

A reading by author Jonathan Greene will take place at The Courthouse Café at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, along with an exhibition of limited edition broadsides with photographs by Dobree Adams. The broadsides and books by Greene will be available at The Cozy Corner after the reading.

Greene, the author of 30 books including Lustre, Distillations & Siphonings, Heart Matters, Gists Orts Shards, A Commonplace Book and Fault Lines, is also the publisher of Gnomon Press and an award-winning book designer. He has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Southern Federation of State Art Agencies as well as an Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship from the Kentucky Arts Council.

Full Circle, an exhibition of tapestries, photographs and poems by Adams and Greene, will be shown in the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church from Oct. 27 to Nov. 20. An ArtWalk exhibit of their work will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Adams is a fiber artist as well as a photographer. She is one of the co-founders of the Kentucky Women Photographers Network, which has members statewide. She has received grants from the Kentucky Foundation for Women and an Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship from the Kentucky Arts Council. Her tapestries are handwoven from handspun wool yarns, in the natural colors of the Lincoln Longwool sheep as well as yarns that have been dyed in the skein using a Japanese brush.

There will be a reception for the artists, open to all, at the fellowship hall of the church from 5 until 7 p.m. during ArtWalk on Saturday.
